Ain Dubai, the world’s tallest observation wheel, opens to the public this month
[Oct 6, 2021: The Brighter Side of News]
The world’s tallest observation wheel, Ain Dubai, is set to be opened to the public on October 21 – adding yet another impressive architectural achievement to Dubai’s long list of world record-breaking attractions and impressive skyline.
At a staggering 250 meters tall, the observation wheel, the largest of its kind in the world, is located at Bluewaters Island and is a remarkable engineering masterpiece. Each leg support is 126 meters tall, the length of 15 London buses while its hub and spindle are the four A380 aircrafts wide.
But the “Dubai Eye” (Ain Dubai) has more to offer than its magnificent engineering.
Open day and night, the wheel offers a 360-degree view of Dubai’s stunning urban skyline, with each of its 48 air-conditioned cabins offering up to 1,750 visitors an experience found nowhere else.
Sightseers can delight in a breathtaking view of some of the UAE’s finest landmarks such as Palm Jumeirah, the Burj Khalifa and the Burj al-Arab.
And as if that wasn’t enough, the wheel boasts a state-of-the-art LED screen for all the latest entertainment purposes.
The giant observation wheel is equipped with three types of cabins to enjoy the 38-minute ride in a relaxing, luxurious mode: observation cabins (the standard option), social cabins (“VIP” option which includes a bar) and private cabins–offering three-course dinner– where you can celebrate momentous occasions.
Things to do at Ain Dubai
Situated across the water from the popular Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR) beachfront, the giant wheel offers unrivalled 360-degree views of the urban skyline in a relaxing yet mesmerising 38-minute journey. With 48 air-conditioned passenger cabins, 1,750 visitors can take in the breathtaking experience in one revolution.
Ain Dubai showcases the city’s beautiful coastline, Dubai Marina's sleek sights and dreamy glimpses of famous landmarks such as Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah and the Burj Khalifa. Open day and night, visitors can take in two sides of Dubai on a ride – its skyscrapers shining bright in the sun’s rays or the landscape gradually glittering into the night as darkness falls.
The structure is more than an elevated vantage point for transforming city perspectives; the wheel’s base serves as a world-class entertainment zone with a large LED screen mounted on it.
